Spring is here!! Which means that the everything suddenly feels a little bit better and brighter.... It also means that it is time to start to book ticket for all the festivals this summer.

What a better way to enjoy the the summer than to go to one of the music festivals the special mix of music, people-spotting, food and muddy clothes? If you are lucky you are one of those who managed to get a ticket for Glastonbury; the biggest festival in U.K. It has big names like Bruce Springsteen and Lily Allen as a line up. In fact, Glastonbury is so big the don't need to tell their whole line up, people are coming anyway... Respect.

There still are other festivals around which you might be lucky to get a ticket to. Radio one's weekend, for an example, is free and they give out their ticket on the 14 of April, Scotland's T in the park still have tickets left and so do V-festival. Snowpatrol, Elbow and the Killers are on several of the festivals.

Finally my tip on the next big band; Metro Station with their song "Shake it" from Radio one's live lounge. The tatooed guy is the brother to Miley Cyrus, but don't hold it against him...

This week I'm excited about two new releases from two band.

The first band is the big almighty U2 and their long anticipated album "No Line on the Horizon". Their first single "Get on your boots" from the new album have been played on the radio a lot and have been receiving mixed reviews. I haven't made up my mind yet if I actually like it or not.... I think it sounds a little psychadelic, but, with the recognisable voice of Bono and The Edge's trademark guitar-sound there are some glimmers of brilliance. It's not exactly easy-listening music; it needs more than one listen.

At least there is one thing you can say about U2, they are never scared of trying new directions and influences. Probably why they still are so big.

The next "old" band with a new album is the English indie band Doves. After 4 years wait there is an album which is called "Kingdom of Rust" and it will be released on April 6th. The single "Kingdom of Rust" will be released earlier in the end of March. This track is easy to like, a simple sentimental song with a nice feeling to it. Compared to U2 it feels more humble whereas U2 do it slightly more "big". I find myself listen to it over again, not because I need to analyse what I think about it.

It's more simple than that; I like it. A lot.
